Dongguan City is located in the Dongjiang Delta, where the water body is covered by water hyacinth from local growth and upstream drift. In order to master the information of its distribution and source in Dongguan City, a water hyacinth extraction model based on multi band ratio and single band threshold was established. The dynamic remote sensing monitoring was carried out by using multi-source satellite data, and the relationship between the distribution of water hyacinth and the quantitative remote sensing results of chlorophyll concentration was analyzed.The results show that water hyacinth is the source of water hyacinth in the river network area of Dongguan City and the waters around Tonghu Lake. The water hyacinth grows in the eutrophic waters such as the end of the river and the pond with high chlorophyll concentration. From October 2018, March 2019 to September 2019, the coverage area of water hyacinth in Dongguan city continued to decrease significantly, which shows that the effect of river and lake floating objects treatment was remarkable. Remote sensing technology provides an economic and efficient means for mastering the distribution and source information of water hyacinth, which is conducive to the establishment of regional joint remediation scheme and the realization of system governance.
